Stephanie Marcus was born and raised in New Jersey, USA. She lived and worked in Sendai, Japan & Dresden, Germany before moving to her current residence in NYC.

Awarded a PhD from The Rockefeller University for her dissertation on the genetic specializations of brain circuits for vocal control, she is an advocate for women in science and equitable work environments.

She’s a coffee drinker, plant mom, diver, violinist, and sometimes photographer and rock climber. She loves nature and expansive spaces.
